Trading Democracy for Corporate Rule - Chapter One - Ten Reasons to Oppose the SPP and TILMA
Hello friends,
If you treasure our democratic rights and love a sovereign independent Canada as much as we do, please take the time to view this ten minute video on youtube and then share it with everyone you know. Trading Democracy for Corporate Rule – Chapter One - Ten Reasons to Oppose the SPP and TILMA.
The future of this country and our democracy depend on citizens like yourself understanding the changes taking place through the implementation of two current trade agreements in Canada- the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) and the Trade, Investment and Labour Mobility Agreement (TILMA).
These two agreements will have a profound effect upon our society, our economy and our freedoms. This first chapter describes the top ten issues related to the SPP and TILMA, and subsequent chapters will elaborate on this material. We are working on a full-length documentary but have become so concerned about what we have learned in the process that we have decided to release this first chapter as soon as we could.
We encourage you to send this video to your family, friends and co-workers, as it is intended to open up discussion on these important issues, and offers alternatives to this unacceptable and dangerous process now taking place in our country. Help us drive this on to the public agenda - rate the video and make a comment on youtube to push it up the youtube news chart.
This August, at the SPP leaders summit in Montebello Quebec, we captured three Quebec Provincial Police officers dressed as radicals with rocks in their hands being confronted by legitimate protesters. We uploaded this footage on our youtube channel, CanadiansNanaimo. It was viewed by hundreds of thousands of people, posted on hundreds of other websites and was reported in the national news, helping to expose the SPP. This new ten minute video will explain what is involved with this insidious process.
This is a project of the Mid-Island-Nanaimo chapter of the Council of Canadians in association with Manly Media Ltd. You can find more information on this important project, and how you can get involved, at our website, www.canadiansnanaimo.org.
We hope that you will join us in this critical struggle to protect our democracy, our environment and the rights and standards that Canadians have struggled to establish over decades of hard work.
